Chinastar padded over the burning hot sand, her rough pads protecting her from damage. She looked around, tail flicking back and forth as she surveyed her territory looking for some unlucky piece of prey. A movement from the corner of her eye caught her attention and she turned, making sure to keep her movements slow so as not to startle potential food for her clan. The jackrabbit sat on his hind legs, making sure there was no danger before speeding across the desert plain.

Chinastar bunched her haunches, springing loaded muscles and taking off after it at an amazing speed. Pouncing in the air when the time was right, she caught her prey by the neck and clamped down. The prey's frantic movement stopped immediately, letting her know she had been successful. She let the limp bundle fall to the ground, burying it in hot sand to pick up later. She would have to be quick, though, to avoid decomposition to the food. Looking around, she tried to find the next spot where a rabbit would pop up.
