Amberstars muscles bunched, propelling herself gracefully up onto a tree stump, hardened with ice and age. The wood was hard beneath her pads, though not slippery like it would have been if ice was encrusted over it. It never seemed to get soggy or damp somehow, probably because it was partially fossilised.
Folding her haunches she sat back with an elegant air, eyes dancing about the clearing expertly. Silently clearing her throat, she parted her jaw to emmit a call. "All cats old enough to catch your own prey gather beneath the high stump!" Through the hazy silnce her cry rebounded off the three walls of logs that lined the camp, causing a slight, muffled echo. Ears twisting they tried to pick up sounds of approaching cats.
Rocksoul jumped to attention, shacken from his daze about Silversnow. Glancing appologetically across at the two kits he was supposed to be minding, he slid outisde the hadowed dens entrance, pupils dilating quickly in the vage light. Increasing his gait to a lazy trot, he made his way to sit before the high stump. Not even bothered to guess what this would be about.
Surprisingly, Spiderkit followed curiously, half-guessing what this was about. He knew that he should be made an apprentice, and Amberstar had already spoken to him about it, though him alone. Or would she had confided in the deputy aswell? He wasn't entirely sure. With a guarded appearance he set himself before his leader, near the back of the throng that was emerging.

Foxkit, ever mindful of warrior code, knew that kits weren't supposed to go to these meetings and watched in surprise as Spiderkit padded after Rocksoul. She crawled to the mouth of the warm den and laid her head down, watching the meeting through bright and curious eyes. The chill of the fresh air quickly reached her, and she bunched up her fur to keep as much as she could out as she kept her watchful gaze on the cats.

Cloudfur yawned, padding towards the high stump, where he took his customary position beside the high stump, looking out at his Clan. He stifled a laugh as he saw Foxkit bumbling up to watch the meeting with wide eyes. He smiled at her. The kit would make a fine warrior one day. He turned his attention to Spiderkit and purred lightly. new apprentice? Most likely.

Amberstar chanced a brief warm smile down towards Spiderkit. "We are here to name a new apprentice. She motioned towards Spiderkit with a fleeting nod. "I call upon my warrior ancestors to watch over thsi kit as he commences training in the ways of the warrior code." As the words floated from her jaws, her head was tilted partially towards the heavens. Now it came down suddenly, gazing openly towards Spiderkit. "Spiderkit, Cloudfur will be your mentor. I now name you Spiderpaw." Twisting her head to Cloudfur she continued. "Pass on all your knowledge and strength." Winding her tail neatly about her paws once more, she waited for them to greet each other.
Spiderpaw bounded forwards, hessitating briefly only to be urged forwards by an encouraging nudge from Rocksoul. He padded swiftly over to the deputy, slowing to they could touch noses gently.
